Our lovely G.R.A.C.E volunteer Jackie Debbage has been raising funds for us again – this time in the sweltering heat. Thank you Jackie – you are a real star!

Thank you to all the hounds and humans who joined us for the Great Global Greyhound Walk on 11 June at Preston Park. You were part of something big! Altogether there were 169 walks worldwide on that day, with 5,702 sighthounds taking part.

It wasn’t the warmest of days, but G.R.A.C.E dogs Bridie, Curtis, Nadia (Borzoi), Hardy and new blue boy (still to be named!) joined in a lovely sighthound walk around Hardwick Park today.

G.R.A.C.E volunteer Jackie, along with her family and greyhound Darius, also set up a stall to raise much needed funds for us. Thank you so much!

Our hounds love to get out and about, especially when it means a trip to Stewart Park, Middlesbrough. Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello on Sunday. Here are Bud and Bridie, along with Darius and G.R.A.C.E volunteer Gary. Bud is currently in a trial home (everything crossed!), but Bridie (right) is still looking for her forever home. Darius isn’t a G.R.A.C.E dog and already has a loving home – he likes to pop along and support his pals though whenever he can. Thank you to Darius and his lovely Mum Jackie! 

Thank you to clued-up, Stockton-based Enigmatology, which organises ‘live escape room’ experiences for teams of wannabe super sleuths. The kind hearted company donated all of its proceeds for bookings on Saturday 18^th March to G.R.A.C.E. If your organisation would be happy to hold a fundraising day on our behalf, we’d love to hear from you!

Thank you to everyone who popped along to say hello at our Mother’s Day ‘meet and greet’ at Stewart Park, Middlesbrough recently. Don’t forget we’re at Stewart Park (next to the Farmers Market) on the last Sunday of every month – weather permitting.

Thanks to Tracy Cook, founder of GRACE, and our small team of volunteers, hundreds of greyhounds have been rescued and are now living in their forever homes.

We love happy endings and especially hearing how so many of our hounds are enjoying a life of being pampered. We’ve noticed that there are quite a few things that greyhounds have in common: (1) they love people (2) they love cuddles (3) they sleep for hours and (4) they love somewhere comfy and warm – especially a bed or sofa!

GRACE is run entirely by volunteers. Every penny we raise goes directly to the welfare of the dogs in our care. We don’t have kennels and all of our dogs live in homes (either as foster dogs or with their forever family). This means they get the love and attention they deserve from day one.  If you are interested in volunteering, fundraising, fostering or adopting any of our dogs, we would love to hear from you. Sadly, after four years of holding monthly ‘meet and greets’ at our local garden centre, we can no longer hold our popular event there due to a change in company policy.  We are getting out and about to as many one-off events as we can, as well as popping along to the Farmer’s Market in Stewart Park, Middlesbrough, for a couple of hours on the fourth Sunday of every month.

However, we could still do with a regular venue to use once a month. Ideally, we are looking for somewhere in Teesside with lots of visitors, outside space and some cover incase it rains (greyhounds hate getting cold or wet!). Please can you help?    

After a few weeks of trying out his potential new home/sofa for size, we are pleased to report that Tag’s adoption became ‘official’ on Sunday 8 November. His fabulous Mum and Dad, Linda and Terry, are spoiling him with the love, hugs and kindness he truly deserves. As well as a regular run on the beach, he’s enjoying life on a very comfy sofa, warming himself by the fire and the odd frankfurter sausage!
