We can’t get out to fundraise at the moment, so things are difficult. Two of our fantastic volunteers, Doreen and Jackie, have been making and selling items of jewellery and gifts, including these lovely pins, bangles and keyrings, to raise much needed funds. Examples are pictured below and are all priced at £5 including p&p. Please see our Facebook page for the full range, including availability: www.facebook.com/RescueAGreyhound
Thank you Doreen and Jackie!

Our lovely, thoughtful, hound-loving friend and exceptionally talented artist Jo Brodie, who designed our GRACE logo, has roped in her friends and family to create some original artwork with the theme of lockdown covid-19. Proceeds will go to GRACE.
Jo’s work is available on Etsy under ‘jobrodieart’ [NB: on the left hand side of Jo’s Etsy page, there is a drop down column – chose covid-19 to have a look at the beautiful work.]
A huge thank you to Jean Armstrong of ‘Blackrose Lexi Design Greetings Cards.’ As well as being mega talented, Jean is a supporter of GRACE and other greyhound rescue charities. Jean regularly raises funds through the sale of her beautiful greetings cards which support dozens of greyhounds here in the UK as well as overseas.
Thank you to everyone who donated funds or contributed food to the natonal ‘food4life’ campaign, organised by ‘Caged Nationwide’. Although not a GRACE campaign, one of our fantastic volunteers Doreen put out a plea for donations to help buy food for greyhounds in racing kennels.
With the help of our GRACE supporters, Doreen raised enough funds to buy 32 bags of food, which were distributed by GRACE founder Tracy to racing kennels around the North East.
In addition, a special mention goes to ‘Butternut Box’ for their wonderful donation of dog food, which Tracy transported back to the North East for greyhounds in kennels, plus Paul from ‘Denes’ who also donated a pallet of food.
It has been a sad time at GRACE recently, as gorgeous hounds Mitzi and Pedro have both crossed the rainbow bridge.
Mitzi suffered a stroke and was not recovering, so Angela and Gary who adopted her had to make the heartbreaking decision to let Mitzi go.
In addition, tragically Bethanie and Andy had to say goodbye to their adopted boy Pedro. He was only 5 years old and diagnosed with a brain tumour this week, so the heartbreaking decision was made to let Pedro make his final journey.
We are all heartbroken at the loss of Mitzi and Pedro. Sadly some incredibly difficult decisions sometimes have to be made. We have lost so many of our beautiful hounds this year and it really breaks our hearts every time.
Sadly, GRACE foster girl Emma has gone on her final journey over the rainbow bridge. Emma was in long term foster care with Gillian and David who spoiled her rotten during the final years of her life.
Emma had long term medical problems that Gillian and David supported her through. Emma was a much loved member of their family and she loved her furry brother Ben. Emma had become very ill and had been to the vets. Sadly, she became so weak and was unable to walk and have any quality of life. Safe journey beautiful girl, we will miss you, but you will be free from pain and our other hounds are waiting to meet you on your journey. Thank you to Gillian and David for loving Emma and giving her the perfect home.
Just an update on Phil and his fundraising. You might recall that Phil was going to be running the London marathon in April to raise funds for our rescue. Unfortunately, down to covid-19, it has now been put back until October.
Phil has raised £280 so far that he will be forwarding to us now, and will continue his fundraising closer to October. We hope you will support him nearer the time! Thanks Phil for your efforts and the fabulous amount you have raised so far. We really appreciate it.

It’s with a very heavy heart that we have some incredibly sad news to share with you. GRACE girl Emma crossed over the rainbow bridge this week.
Some of you might remember Emma, who first came to GRACE with Wilson (Albert) several years ago. She was adopted by Michelle who gave her the most amazing life! As you can imagine Michelle is absolutely devastated at losing her beautiful, cheeky and loving soulmate.
Sam has been in foster care for over a year and we would love to find him his forever home. He is a sensitive soul who is looking for an adult only home with greyhound experience. If you feel you could offer Sam his forever home, we would love to hear from you.
