Looking for homes
Find out a bit about each of our delightful dogs who are all looking for loving, forever homes.
Keep up to date with what they are up to via our Facebook page too!
Frankie is a 5 year old boy who is very friendly with people. He is probably not cat friendly and has just come into the rescue so will undergo a period of rehabilitation. Frankie is going to a foster home so we will get further updates soon.
Finn (pictured on the left) is a 3 year old brindle boy. Hes is a very confident young man. He has just come into our rescue so he is still learning what it is like to live in a home environment. Finn is great with other dogs and enjoys playing, so would like another like-minded dog. Finn walks well on his lead and is dog friendly. He has not been cat tested yet.
Ash is a lovely 3 year old boy who is looking for a forever home. He's a very happy, affectionate boy. He is great with other dogs, but yet to be tested to see whether he is cat-friendly. He's great in all ways. We believe he would prefer a home with another dog as he loves to play!
Jude is a 14 month old boy who recently underwent an amputation. Greyhounds do well on three legs. Jude is only young and is already adapting well to life as a tripaw. Jude will need a very special home once he has healed. He’s a lovely, happy boy.
This gorgeous black boy is yet to be assessed and is still awaiting a name. He is still in kennels at the moment until we can secure him a foster home and then forever home. Can you be his new family?
Hope is a new dog friendly girl who we are just getting to know. She has not been tested to see if she is cat-friendly yet. More information to follow.
Chelsea (NB: Out at trial home)
Chelsea Pretty 4 year old Chelsea is waiting for her foster, then forever, home.
Elsa (NB: Out at trial home)
Elsa is 2 years old and a confident, friendly girl. She could be an only dog or live with another dog. Elsa is used to small children and is great with other dogs.
Pearl is a 4 year old petite greyhound girl. She can be boisterous and has a strong prey drive so she will need a sighthound experienced home. Pearl will need to be muzzled on walks. She could possibly live in a home with dog savvy teens, but no small children. She is also small dog trainable. Pearl can be a little timid with strangers, but once she knows you she loves a good fuss.
Abbi is a 6 year old laid back girl. She absolutely loves attention and loves her cuddles. When she’s not getting cuddles she never moves from her bed. She could go to a home with older children and is small dog trainable.
Flyer is an 8 year old lively girl. She is friendly but doesn’t crave attention. She is good with other dogs, but doesn’t like to share so we think she would be best suited as an only dog. She will need an experienced home without young children.
Lohan is a 6 year old laid back girl. Due to her quiet nature she would be better suited to a quiet home. She can have a sensitive tummy so needs to be fed hypoallergenic food. Lohan doesn’t travel well and will need to be muzzled in the car. She is trainable to be around small dogs.
Apache is 7 years old and a big softie. He can play nip when excited though so would not recommend that he lived with small children. Apache is small dog trainable. He had a toe amputated a while back, but this doesn’t affect him at all. He is a big friendly boy who loves his food.
Handsome Winny is a 7 year old boy. He is extremely friendly and behaves more like a lab than a greyhound! He is great with other greyhounds, but a bit wary of other breeds - this could be workable though. We would not recommend that he lived with small children due to his enthusiastic nature.
After an anxious start, Sam (aged 3 and a half) has quickly settled into life as a pet and enjoys company, but will settle and sleep when left alone. He gets on well with other dogs when he has been properly introduced, but hasn't been cat tested and is unsure around young children. He's very affectionate, likes cuddles and to play. His recall is good in a securely fenced area and he walks well on the lead. Sam is a lovely boy and will be a great companion.
New boy Blake is 3 years old and really lovely. He has just come into the rescue, but is already settling in. Blake gets on with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats yet.
Flossie (NB: Out at trial home)
Flossie is 4 years old and great with dogs of all sizes. She loves people and life in general. She walks perfectly on the lead and would suit any home. She enjoys her toys and playing. A perfect dog in fact. She is not cat friendly.
Holly (NB: Reserved)
Holly is 5 years old and looking for her forever home. She is good with other dogs, but is not cat tested yet. Holly loves all people and is very loving. She walks lovely on her lead and is a happy go lucky girl.
Tiny is two years old and is a very friendly girl. She is only small, hence her name! She can be quite boisterous so would need a more active home. Tiny isn't small dog tested but gets on well with other greyhounds. She could possibly be homed with dog-savvy older children.
Two year old Rioga, or Rio for short, is a lively and very friendly girl. She isn't small dog tested, but she generally doesn't get on well with other dogs (she won't share her sleeping space and is possessive over food with other dogs). We would therefore recommend that she is an only dog. She is brilliant with people and could possibly live with dog-savvy older children.
This beautiful brindle boy is called Foxy and he is two years old. He is quite small for a boy, has a lovely temperament and is laid back. He is also very affectionate. Foxy has never raced, gets on with other greyhounds and is small dog trainable. He is very clingy though and would need an owner who is at home most of the time as he shows signs of having separation anxiety. He would probably be OK to home with children.
Simone (NB: Out at trial home)
This gorgeous girl is Simone who is really loving and can live with other dogs. She has been described as 'just perfect!'
We rescued beautiful Joy from terrible circumstances - you can read about her (one of the emaciated hounds) on our news and Facebook pages. Joy has thrived in the care of our G.R.A.C.E volunteers and is now ready for her forever home. She is only two years old and is a very special girl. Joy would love to be an only dog or could live with another dog in the right circumstances. She is not cat or 'small furry friendly'. As Joy is still young, an active family would suit her, with children over 10 as she can be excitable.
Jill (NB: Out at trial home)
Jill is about six years old and is a lovely black greyhound girl. She is good with other large dogs and is learning about small dogs. Jill is afraid of children, so would prefer a home with adults only. Jill is a loving, friendly girl who needs a chance. [NB: Image credit: www.nikkipaxton.com]
Pippa is not under our care, but we are sharing her details on our page as she needs a new home. Her owners rescued Pippa from an allotment as a puppy at 8 weeks old. She is now around two and a half years old and would suit an experienced sighthound home. Her current owners have not made the decision to rehome Pippa lightly, but feel it is not right to keep her. She is a very intelligent girl, so requires lots of mental and physical stimulation. Pippa is quick to learn although she is very stubborn. She broke her leg at 5 months old and had be crated for a considerable period of time, which meant she Pippa missed out on a lot of socialisation with other dogs. Pippa can be quite aggressive towards other dogs whilst she is out and has therefore had to be muzzled at all times on walks. She does play with other dogs she is familiar with, although she can be very boisterous. Pippa also has a very strong prey drive. Although has lived with two cats, it is recommended that she does not go to a home with small furry animals unless she is constantly supervised. It is not recommended that she lives with young children as she is very bullish in her attitude and might knock a young child over.
We've been asked to share Morris, a 2 year old saluki cross, on our webpage. Morris is neutered, fully vaccinated, chipped, wormed etc. He is a lovely and lively boy who needs someone around a lot of the time. He has a lot of energy and would suit someone who could give him the amount of exercise and mental stimulation he needs to be happy. He is very friendly with other dogs, however his manners could improve. He could live with another dog, but is still very playful and sometimes forgets his manners! It might be best that he did not to live with an older dog who may want to rest. Morris loves to run and play and is well trained for treats! He doesn’t have very good recall at the moment but that will need working on. He also mouths a little when excited, but this could be trained out of him as he is very smart. He has lived with children, however due to his size and bounciness it might be best if he is rehomed with older children. Since being a pup has also lived with a cat, who he does like to chase but just in play.
Rosie a beautiful 4 year old girl who came into rescue in early January. Rosie has lived in a home and would prefer the company of another dog, ideally a male. She is not cat or hedgehog friendly.
Milo (NB: Out at trial home)
One year old Milo is cat and dog friendly. Milo has been around children but because he is big has always been supervised around them. He's still young and bouncy and will jump up. Milo hasn't mastered 'calm' yet, but this will improve with training. Milo is crate trained and is happy to be in there if need be. He has good recall, will sit, gives paws and will lie down. He's very food orientated and does guard his food. He doesn't like people near his food, so he is fed in his crate so he can eat in peace in a safe place where he won't be disturbed. Milo is greyhound sized. He would suit an active family with older children and someone who can continue with his training.
We need a permanent FOSTER home for Bill who is a 12 year old lurcher. He may be 12, but he's very sprightly and enjoys his walks and would run himself ragged given the chance. Bill has arthritis so his vet bills will be covered by GRACE ** It was under extremely sad and difficult circumstances that we were asked to take Bill and Sky (see above) under our wing.
Lovely Lottie is 4 years old and is very friendly and playful. She is good on her lead, good in the house and in the car. She is also good with other dogs and loves to play. She is a very cheeky, loving girl. Lottie is not cat friendly.
Lewis (NB: Out at trial home)
Lewis is a 5 year old black greyhound boy. Lewis is very affectionate and loving. He enjoys playing with toys. Lewis seems good around most dogs and could be cat trainable. Lewis is in foster care at the moment as an only dog and is thriving on the extra attention. Lewis likes using a crate to get his quiet time.
Nina (NB: Out at trial home)
Stunning new girl Nina has only just arrived with us. She is still a bit shy of new people but is slowly coming round. We are getting to know her so that we can find the perfect forever home to call her own.
She has only just arrived with us so we are still getting to know beautiful Leona, who is looking for a forever home.
This pretty 5 year old girl is Stella. She would suit a home with sighthound experience as can be 'keen' around some small dogs and is not cat friendly. Stella is very loving towards people and children and has been fostered with small children. Ella walks well on her lead and travels well in the car.
Daisy is a lovely 5+ year old girl. She is currently fostered with other dogs. She only came into G.R.A.C.E on 1st September so she is just learning the ropes. Daisy will soon be neutered and once assessed will be ready to move into a new home. Please contact us if you are interested in offering this beautiful girl a forever home.
This handsome boy is Joshua. He is 5 years old and has only recently come into our rescue. He seems OK with other dogs. He walks well on his lead and is a happy boy. He is possibly cat friendly and are in the process of assessing this.
Duke (NB: Out at trial home)
This handsome boy is Duke and he is an 18 month old lurcher. He would be fine as an only dog and he is very independent. He's fine with children, but needs someone who can keep up his training as he can be a bit rude! He will push through doors in front of people if not told etc.
Mitzi (NB: Out at trial home)
Unfortunately it didn't work out for Mitzi at her home, so G.R.A.C.E offered to help find her a forever home. Mitzi has lived with large dogs, but is not keen on smaller dogs. Mitzi is 6 years old and is vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped.
