New arrivals at G.R.A.C.E

We have new arrivals this week who will settle in then be assessed as to what type of home they are looking for.

As always we are always needing foster homes to support our hounds in their transition to their new lives. All financial outlay is covered by GRACE, you just need to provide love, TLC and walks.

Goodnight to our special friend

We were devastated to learn that our special friend and great supporter, Tony from Just Natural Dogs in Redcar, passed away this week. Our thoughts and love go to Elli, David and family.

The shop will be closed for the foreseeable future. Instead of laying flowers at the shop, we are encouraging people to leave a stick with their dog’s name on to show the family how much Tony was loved, not only by all the dogs, but by their owners too.

[NB: Please leave your stick to the side of the shop, not in the doorway]

Spud joins the wedding celebrations!

We’re delighted to share some happy news and gorgeous pics!

One of our G.R.A.C.E boys, Spud, was recently at his stunning Mum and Dad’s wedding and doesn’t he look ‘greyt.’

Huge congratulations to Laura and Calvin from the G.R.A.C.E family.

Wishing you many more years of happiness.

Sleep tight sweet Evie

Unfortunately we have had some more really sad news. Beautiful Evie has lost her fight with lymphoma.

Evie was struggling to breathe and sadly nothing could be done. Our hearts go out to her mum Louise and fur sibling Roxi.

Sending love and hugs from all the G.R.A.C.E team. Rest easy lovely Evie. You are forever in our thoughts and hearts.

In memory of Lola and Ty

Three years ago we took in a puppy from the pound. Allegedly she was a lurcher and a unique mix of unknown parentage. We named her Lola (the showgirl) as she was so dainty and danced around.

As she was young, as always we looked to find the perfect home match. One of our adopters Linda was looking for a companion for her saluki lad Ty. As Ty could be ‘selective’ about his canine company, we thought a puppy companion would be good.

As a result, Lola joined Linda and Ty and became a much loved member of the family. Sadly Ty passed away, and recently Lola joined her canine brother.

Rest gently beautiful Lola and run riot with Ty across the rainbow bridge.

Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers

We couldn’t help the hounds without your amazing support and our wonderful volunteers. So this is a ‘greyt’ big thank you to each and every one of you!

There are too many people to mention individually on our website, but please know that we are always incredibly grateful.

This month, we’d like to give a big shout out to Nicola’s Professional Dog Groomers for their collection of £151.22.

All funds donated help to pay for vet bills or food for the hounds. This is a huge help as G.R.A.C.E is run entirely by volunteers. Thanks as always go to Summer who oversees the donations in her Mum’s groomers!

Also, a special thank you to Emma for her donation in memory of her beautiful Sox.

A sad farewell to lady Laila

Sad news unfortunately.

Beautiful lady Laila, who was adopted from G.R.A.C.E by Sam and Lawrence almost ten years ago, recently became unwell. Tests showed fluid around Laila’s heart and lungs.

Although the vet did everything possible, sadly Laila only had a few more days with her family. Laila was a beautiful girl. Rest gently lovely Laila. Forever in our thoughts and hearts.

Appeal for booze please!

G.R.A.C.E is having a ‘Win Every Time Bottle Tombola’ at Fletchers Farm Christmas Fair on Saturday 29th November and we still need donations for this please.

If you can donate any of the following, we would be incredibly grateful: bottles of spirits, wine, single bottles/cans of beer, larger, cider, cocktail mixes or booze minis.

If you have something to donate, please get in touch via the contact details on our website, send a message via our Facebook page, or feel free to bring donations to any of our forthcoming events. Thank you so much.

G.R.A.C.E at Chaloner Street Market in Guisborough

Thanks to everyone who supports, or volunteers at, our regular G.R,A.C.E stall at Chaloner Street Market in Guisborough.

We are always grateful to everyone who donates, buy gifts or gives cuddles to the hounds.

As well as raising much-needed funds, we always have a lovely day!

Remembering our amazing friend Annie

We received some incredibly sad news at the end of 2024. Our amazing friend, and GRACE supporter, Annie Ross passed away suddenly.

Not only was Annie a kind, compassionate, beautiful person, she had a wicked sense of humour and a heart of gold. She was also a very talented artist and designer. You might recall that Annie designed a range of fundraising t-shirts for G.R.A.C.E last year, donating all of her profits to us.

Despite having to come to terms with losing his childhood sweetheart, Annie’s husband Steve has been in touch with us recently to donate £400 from Annie’s G.R.A.C.E t-shirt sale profits.

As well as getting behind G.R.A.C.E, Annie was a supporter of the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS), giving her time and skills for free to create the BHPS logo and wonderful hedgehog infographics to help wildlife across the UK.

She also welcomed all wildlife into her garden, as well as fostering hedgehogs and raising funds for Cleveland Hedgehog Preservation Society and cat rescue organisations.

She was the talent behind ‘The Future is Unmown’, a website featuring fun-filled designs and products for serious fans of nature!

Annie will be missed so much by all who knew her. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time.
