Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever loving homes for greyhounds and lurchers
Greyhound Rescue and Co-ordinated Emergencies (G.R.A.C.E) was set up in 2011 to rescue, re-habilitate and rehome unwanted and abused greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds from local authority dog pounds, members of the public, and, predominantly, owners and trainers of racing greyhounds.
Racing greyhounds, who become too old or slow to race, or who have sustained an injury, are seriously at risk of being destroyed. Thousands of greyhounds ‘disappear’ every year, presumed dead.
We help as many dogs as we can by taking each dog into a foster home where they receive a period of rehabilitation to recover, receive any necessary veterinary treatment and are cared for and loved, often for the first time in their lives.
Our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to their forever homes being found. We also work alongside other reputable rescues to rehome dogs.
